DESCRIPTION OF BOOK:

Softcover. Specially boxed two volumes celebrating Cartier’s one hundred years, 1847-1947. This is #997 of 1500 examples. “Eloge des Pierreries” has an original lithograph by Andre Derain as the frontispiece, and the pages are uncut in this volume. The Derain lithograph was printed by Mourlot. The other volume, a history of Cartier, has a full page hand painted depiction of a diamond and emerald necklace. There is also a box that these two volumes are in.

The books are 9 1/2“ wide x 11 3/8“ high.

“Eloge des Pierreries” has 47 pages.

The Cartier Centennial history has 23 pages.

DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION:
Both volumes are in very good condition. The paper cover on the “Eloge des Pierreries” volume is a bit frazzled along the spine, and both volumes have pencil titles or numbers written on the covers, most likely for shelf identification. The covers also show a bit of fading along the spine, but the inside is spotless. The box these volumes are in has seen better days, the spine is torn, but it is still in one piece.
